All the dairy farms within DN AGRAR are engaged in activities related to the exploitation of agricultural land, aiming to ensure part of the feed base for the animals that each farm has.
The crops obtained are used both to ensure the feed base for DN AGRAR’s dairy farms (silage maize, alfalfa, silage triticale, grass, wheat straw) and for the lease payment for those tenants who opt for cereals.
In the field of cereal cultivation, companies within DN AGRAR group work on over 10,000 hectares of land (inside and outside of the group), located in Alba, Sibiu, and Hunedoara counties (both leased and owned land).
Utilization of No-till and Minimum-till technology
DN AGRAR implements modern soil conservation technology, like minimum-till and no-till technologies, which provide both environmental and economic benefits.
Furthermore, DN AGRAR is moving towards more efficient agriculture by investing in new technologies, such as no-till seeders, which combine fertilization and sowing without tilling the soil. These investments optimize farming processes, conserve natural resources, and significantly reduce fuel consumption, leading to increased production efficiency.
By using this technology, along with the use of organic fertilizers and successive corn crops, DN AGRAR aims to reduce its carbon footprint, as well as to obtain carbon certificates – a strategic initiative to broaden DN AGRAR’s revenue mix beyond dairy.
