In addition to milk production, DN AGRAR also engages in secondary activities related to cereal production, which is part of the circular economy. Therefore, a major advantage for us is the fact that we internally produce feed for animal consumption.
The exploitation of agricultural land owned or leased is carried out through DN AGRAR HOLDING SRL, which specializes in the cultivation of cereals (excluding rice), leguminous plants, and oilseed plants.
DN AGRAR HOLDING SRL is the company that provides the feed base for the Apold farm. Additionally, each of the other two dairy farms within DN AGRAR engages in activities related to the exploitation of agricultural land, aiming to ensure part of the feed base for the animals they house.
In the field of cereal cultivation, companies within the DN AGRAR group work on approximately 7,000 hectares located in Alba, Sibiu, and Hunedoara counties (both leased and owned land). Our objective is to reach a cultivated area of 10,000 hectares through the acquisition of other crop-producing farms.
The produced crops are used both to ensure the feed base for DN AGRAR’s dairy farms (silage corn, alfalfa, silage triticale, grass, wheat straw) and for lease payment (for tenants who opt for cereals).
Another related activity is the production for sale of cereals (wheat, corn, barley) and oilseed plants (soybeans and sunflowers).
DN AGRAR implements modern soil conservation technology, specifically the minimum tillage technique, in its farms, which is environmentally friendly.
